Patent coats my boyfriend hates 🤪🤪even in all black I’m getting an eye roll as we’re leaving the house. He moaned then agreed to take a photo, background his choice (‘bet you’ve never posted a photo with a toilet above you ey! Let’s think of a good toilet pun for you to post!’😂)
Despite the toilet jokes all the way home, it felt good to be out. We headed to a local outdoor market, I was on the hunt for a fresh wreath (didn’t find one so if you have any recommendations in NE London let me know!). Now on the sofa with a roast in the oven, a candle lit and a glass of red wine in hand. We made it through another lockdown weekend, friends👌⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If only I looked this put together for work nowadays! My team are lucky if they get me in jeans instead of trackies - no (hated) leather trousers here at the moment! I do still love a roll neck/blazer combo though. I’M SO HAPPY TO BE IN BOOTS! Less happy that my boyfriend asked if I was going to a ‘funeral rather than dinner? Wanted to document probably the last time I wear a summer dress (‘nightie’) this year - of course I’d taken off my nice shoes by this pic and had my garden sliders on🤪. It’s all a bit ominous and feels relentless at the moment doesn’t it? As someone who loves to plan, and write lists, and tick things off said lists in order and on time - the uncertainty is definitely unnerving. But we carry on - taking a day at a time. Very aware of how fortunate I am. Making a cuppa and tucking into some chocolate fingers with bake off on now (it’s impossible to watch bake off without something sweet to eat, right!?). I seem unable to wear fully black! Clashing prints my boyfriend hates 😬 I wear this camo jacket with leopard quite a lot and really like the combo. When I was wearing this jacket last week not only my boyfriend, but also his friends, kept telling me I was wearing nothing but stripes on my arms 🤦‍♀️😂 can’t win (PS my boyfriend RATES masks and thinks you should wear one even if it is in a print he hates👌)

Oh hi! Just back from a glorious week on the English coast. Don’t let this picture fool you, it pissed it down for most the week but we had fun. Even if my boyfriend did say this is my ‘robbers’ swimsuit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve not been posting on my Instagram as much. Partly because I have spent a lot of time working, at home, in sweatpants, which doesn’t feel remotely inspirational. But also partly because, when the world has felt so heavy, I’ve felt that unless I’m really encouraging people, especially women, to dress for themselves or be happy and look after themselves then what I have to say is kind of irrelevant? Then again, I love the escapism that this platform has to offer and how lovely you all are and how you’re happy to chat to me about anything from cleaning teaspoons (do you deep clean yours?) to free periods (many schools are still not aware they can order free tampons from the DforE). So if it’s ok with you, I’ll keep doing a bit of a mixture. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I guess what I’m getting at is; please feel able to dress for yourself and wear what you want and feel great and not feel restricted by partners/friends/family/etc. But if you have a down day (or few weeks) and question what you’re doing, that’s ok. I’ve had that too. But I’m back now and wanting to encourage you to dress for yourself & support each other. 🙌🖤🤍
